Is Your Child Water Safe?
Do you know what it means to be water safe? Are YOU water safe?
Swimming is a great sport with many benefits. Swimming on a regular basis can help improve fitness levels, increase strength, and help develop coordination skills. However, lets remember to BE SAFE when near the water. In the summer, with more time being spent outdoors, take a little time to ensure you and your family will enjoy a fun-filled, safe summer.
Here are just a few simple ways to provide a safe, fun atmosphere when around water!
- If you have young children, stay within arms reach
- Keep children who cannot swim in lifejackets
- Supervise children when they are in/on floatable toys
- Remember, never dive into unknown water
- Always swim with a friend
- Always wear lifejackets/PFDs when on a boat or canoe
- Check the weather before you go swimming or boating
- Get a boating license
